4 Top Tips to Help Sell your Home

When it comes to selling your home, presentation is vital.  Here are 4 top tips to help sell your home faster.

Spruce up the front garden as this is the first thing a potential buyer will see, so it’s your shop window. An excellent first impression goes a long way.

The entrance hall is the first interior aspect of the home a buyer will see.  Paint it in a neutral colour and remove any bulky furniture.  If you need to add a splash of colour, add a rug or some vases of flowers.

Remove the clutter!  Make sure that your home is clutter-free before your first viewing. If you have outgrown your home, start packing up the things you don’t need and store them away in cupboards or the attic.

Don’t forget to clean.  Potential buyers want to see a spotless home, ensuring that there are no dirty dishes left out and that the toilet is sparkling.

Why interior design is important

Interior design is fundamental in our day to day lives. It helps bring functionality into a room as well as it looking more elegant and bringing you comfort. A small flat might lack space, so you must get that tight space working for you. You can utilise the under-stair space, for example, and turn that into something special.

By choosing the correct equipment, you ensure that your children are safe because everything will be placed out of reach of the children.

When it comes to reselling your property, it will help increase the value of your home. Potential buyers are always looking for a well-designed property, so they have minimal effort upon moving in. If the design is of poor quality, they will probably end up paying less money.

It affects your mood when you decide on things such as the colours of your home. You feel more relaxed and comfortable when your home is to your preference.

Tips for Choosing Commercial Lighting for an Office

Choosing the proper lighting for a commercial office space can be a bit tricky, but it is a very important aspect to get right. By having the correct lighting for a space that people will be working and spending a lot of time in, you want it to be optimised for comfort and focus. You also want your choice of light fixtures to fit the space.

Tips for Choosing Lighting

1. If you can optimise the amount of natural light that enters the office, do so. For instance, if you are in an office building, on the top floor, skylights can be an excellent source of light and not to mention, cost effective.

2. Pick the right style of light fixtures for the design of the office space. When things stand out and do not look like they belong, it could be a distraction to employees or visitors.

3. Use indirect light that is evenly spaced as opposed to direct overhead lighting, which can cause strain.

4. Also consider low glare task lighting.

All of these tips can help you in choosing the proper lighting for your office space. Remember the more comfortable the lighting, the less chance of strain on employees.

How to Add Texture to Your Walls with a Roller

If you have bought a house or living in home that has a lot of bad patch jobs or issues with the walls, one way to help cover up those faults is by adding texture to your walls. The texture will help all those botched jobs blend in and help the walls to have a uniform texture. Here are the steps for applying texture:

1. First fix any damaged areas with a lightweight spackle and allow to dry.

2. Protect the area that will be getting texture, by covering up, like the floor or any nearby items.

3. Prime the walls first with white latex paint or drywall primer.

4. Roll out your premixed texture paint onto the walls for the initial application.

5. Allow first coat to partially dry then roll over the second coat.

6. Use a brush for tight areas and allow to dry.

Adding texture to your walls can be tricky and watching YouTube videos beforehand might also be helpful, but if in doubt, you can always have it professionally done.
