Black is back

It used be to be quite gothic to have a bedroom or a living room that’s mainly black but this tone is actually back with a bang right now. Choosing black furniture can give you a unique style and it allows your white or coloured walls to stand out even more. Some people love having a clear contrast in their décor and by choosing black furniture with white walls, you can create a very luxurious theme. Black never goes out of style but there is one problem, it doesn’t spread light and it can create a rather gloomy atmosphere. This is why balancing black furniture with whites and greys can be a nice idea, whilst bright pastel colours can work well too. With black, it’s important to not overdo it, so whilst a black coffee table, sofa and shelving can look great, we would not recommend you combine it with dark walls, curtains and carpets too.

Home office storage ideas

Having a home office is all well and good, but you will soon use up the space if you store lots of paperwork, computer accessories and furniture in there. That then brings about the question “how can I get more storage space in such a small room?” We’d be happy to answer this so here’s some tips on getting some extra space.

Shelving

Shelving is obviously one of the best options, not only is it easy to install but it means you get a place for an array of items like pens, CDs and books, freeing up a lot of space on your desk.

Metal filing Cabinets

Not only do metal filing cabinets look the part, they aso give you a lot of room to store your goods, whilst they can also help keep you organised. You can buy new or used filing cabinets online and they’ll certainly add an executive feel to your home office.

Bookcases

Bookcases will naturally free up space in your office, especially if you’re a bit of a bookworm. Having a built-in bookcase is a fine choice and you can easily find one that matches the colour and style of your property.

What will a Stove bring to your living room?

A log burner or woodburning stove is more than capable of bringing cosy warmth to your living room, but there’s a lot more it can offer. Here are just a few of the advantages:

Style

A classic wood-burning stove can work well in modern and traditional homes and the classic cast iron character will take the look of your living room one step further.

Convenience

It also brings convenience to your living room. You can have a fire roaring away in seconds with a gas or electric stove and it’s a nice way to get an extra blast of heat when you need it.

Comfort

A stove can also make your living room a much more comfortable and cosy place. It’s a nice addition to a house at Christmas and it will even take away the chill on a mild summer or spring evening.

This takes us back: Copper Bateau Bath

If you had an unlimited budget to buy a bath, would you go for something huge and modern, or something elegent and incredibly stylish? If it was up to us, we’d go for a Copper Bateau Bath, you know, the type you’d see in a James Bond film or a swanky hotel in London. This type of bath is freestanding with a polished outer exterior and a tin interior. It exudes style and works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary bathrooms. Because it’s constructed of copper, it has excellent heat retention properties so your water stays hotter for longer, but the only drawback is that you need a dedicated cleaner to keep it sparkling every day! It’s not the easiest piece of furniture to polish, but it’s certainly one of the most stylish, and that’s why it costs so much money.
